Kilimanjaro Climb 2018

Tumaini International is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children affected by AIDS and other vulunerable children and their communities in Kenya, East Africa by providing life-changing services in four critical areas: child sponsorship, education, healthcare and socioeconomic development. While the climbers take on the bold, noble feat, of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, the funds from their journey will go towards reaching new heights bringing Hope to those in need.

When is the climb?

The climb will take place from July 2-7.

What Route?

  • There are 7 routes to reach Uhuru Peak on Mount Kilimanjaro.  We have picked Marangu Route also known as the Coca Cola route. This route can be trekked in 6 days. (Some do it in 5 and others in 7). It is also the only route with some amenities—e.g. real rooms with solar and cold showers at Horombo huts.

What do they Need?

On top of paying for their personal climb fees, each of the climbers' goal is to raise an additional $5,000. All of the $5,000 goes towards Tumaini International's mission of building hope and building community in Kenya through the four core foundations of child sponsorship, education, healthcare, and socioeconomic development.
