Tumaini is a Christian ministry funded by those whose hearts have been stirred to participate. The mission of Tumaini is an expression of God’s desire to address needs, to bind the wounds and comfort the broken hearted, to help those struggling in the grip of poverty to find fresh hope and confidence for life.
As God stirs your heart to get involved, you and your church can become part of the response of God’s people to the AIDS crisis in southeastern Kenya.
In addition to the child sponsorships, Tumaini is supported through the following:
1. Giving through church missions budgets. Tumaini will provide a personal
representative to discus this with your pastor or missions team.
2. Schedule an “AID’s Orphan Sponsorship” Sunday or Week-end to encourage
members to make a difference for one or more children.
3. Appoint a Tumaini Sponsorship Champion for your church who can schedule
Tumaini desserts to encourage church members and friends to sponsor
a Tumaini AIDS orphan.
4. Take a one time special offering towards the completion of the Multipurpose
Community Center in Masii, Kenya. Christmas, Easter, or Thanksgiving
are good times for “over and above” giving.
5. Adopt a Kenyan Tumaini ministry team leader, providing for his living support
to allow the team leader to give full attention to serving the children.
6. Help support a Tumaini student. Two Christian Colleges have arranged to
provide full tuition scholarships for Tumaini students. Living expenses and
costs for books must be raised.
7. Select Tumaini for your Vacation Bible School Mission project.
8. Help plant a church in Kenya.
