Building a Center of Hope

You can help with our plans to give the AIDS-ravaged community of Masii, Kenya hope and a future through the Multipurpose Community Center.  Tumaini is committed to providing for the needs of the orphaned children and strengthening the surrounding villages.  The new development will host our Christian Camps, Medical Clinic, Counseling Services, Vocational Training and Christian Leadership Program.

How Will the Center Be Used?

The Center will consist of six buildings:

Multipurpose Hall - Used for plenary sessions at our Christian Camps and community gatherings, this building includes a full-service kitchen and seating for 300+.  Completed April, 2007.





Medical Clinic - A small facility staffed with a full time nurse to provide both in-patient and out-patient care, regular check-ups and a base of operations for visiting teams of medical personnel.  Click here to read about the latest vision trip. Opened March, 2009.


Dormitories - Two dormitories to house children and staff during Christian Camps as well as space to host visiting teams, professors, and medical personnel throughout the year.

Instructional and Office Block - This building will provide space for vocational and Christian Leadership training for both youth and adults of the community.  Tumaini children will also be able to access counseling services here.

Library - Stocked with classical as well as academic literature for adults and children, the library is critical to the focus on community education.
