God is at work in Kenya to care for those who have been left parentless and hopeless. It is the heart of Tumaini to step into this need as the love of Christ impels action that will bring God’s purposes to life. Together, with you, good progress is being made.
A key component in serving the children is the Multi-Purpose Community Center (MPCC) in Masii, Kenya. With two of the five buildings completed, funds needed to complete the next building are being raised. In a drive to complete our next building at the MPCC, we are planning a Golf Marathon for September 27, 2010.
You may not be a golfer, but you may be moved to participate in the giving campaign and desire to donate to the MPCC building completion project. Click here to donate or sponsor a golfer.
You are also invited to participate in the Golf Marathon. It will be held at Heartwell Golf Course in Long Beach, an 18 hole, par 3 course. It is a non-scoring event. Golfers would play 3 tee shots per hole for a total of 54 holes for the tournament.
Each participating golfer seeks sponsors to give toward the MPCC project in support of their play in the tournament, with a minimum entry to play being $150. Your participation in our Golf marathon would be most welcome! Register to play in the Golf Marathon, or call the Tumaini office. Click here for online golfer resources.
To help make the competition fun and challenging, there will be two holes on which to compete for a closest to the hole prize, and a putting contest for a free night at the beautiful Blue Lantern Inn in Dana Point. In addition, any player who secures at least $5,000 in donations, will be eligible for a chance to win a free vision trip to Kenya.
Each participant is asked to seek sponsors for their participation with a goal of $1500. A minimum of $150 is required to play.
There will be prizes for closest to the hole on two of the holes being played, and an additional prize will be awarded to the winner of a one shot putting contest at the close of the day.
Any participant raising at least $5,000 in sponsorship donations will be eligible for a drawing for a free trip to Kenya at one of the vision trips sponsored by Tumaini.
Water and snacks will be available at no cost to all participants.
A post golf early dinner will be hosted by Tumaini at Lucille’s BBQ Restaurant at the Long Beach, Town Center. Prizes and participants awards will be presented as we celebrate what God is doing in Kenya through your efforts.
